Team

Our dedicated GIS team is the heart of our school and empowers students to reach their full potential, guiding them toward a bright future.

Primary Team

Our dedicated primary teacher team is committed to nurturing young minds, creating a supportive learning environment, and inspiring a lifelong love of learning. 

Grade 1

Ms. Hanna Chang

Ms. Chang is from New York. Ms. Chang received her Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from the state of California. Her hobbies are walking and traveling.

Grade 4

Ms. Esther Koo

Ms. Koo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois. With seven years of teaching experience, including two years at GIS, she has taught diverse groups of students across various settings, supported by her educator licenses. Having lived in New Zealand, Turkey, Illinois, and California, Ms. Koo embraces the diverse perspectives these experiences have provided and considers each place a part of her home.

Grade 2

Ms. Claire Yoon

Ms. Yoon has over 10 years of teaching experience with elementary school students. Before becoming a teacher, she had the opportunity to work as a student T.A. for a university professor while she was a senior undergraduate student. Teaching has always been her passion, and she is excited to share her love of learning with her students.  

Grade 5

Ms. Jean Jeon

Ms. Jean is from Sydney, Australia. She has taught primary students for the last 8 years. Currently, she is undergoing her online M.ed. in Educational Technology.  In her free time she loves to take her toy poodle, Mercy, to the pet park or the beach.

Grade 3

Ms. Ashley Park

Ms. Park has been teaching for five years in different subject areas such as ESL, elementary homeroom, and middle school social studies. She grew up in Canada and the United States. Ms. Park graduated college in Hong Kong and received her teaching certificate from Washington D.C.. In her free time, she loves traveling around the world.

Grade 6

Ms. Susie Kwak

​Ms. Susie holds a strong passion for education and teaching students. She has been teaching for six years in various subject areas, such as music, ESL, and now elementary homeroom. Ms. Susie holds a Bachelor of Music Education with an ESL endorsement and carries a K-12 professional teaching license in the beautiful state of Colorado, where she is from. Ms. Susie loves hiking, camping, traveling, and dogs!

Secondary Team

Our secondary teacher team consists of passionate educators who specialize in guiding students through their academic journey, preparing them for success in higher education and beyond.

ELA

Mr. David Reardon

Mr. David is a British national who graduated from London Metropolitan University in 2010 with a degree in Performing Arts. After some time exploring his options, he moved to South Korea, where he's been teaching for the past 12 years. His passion for education began at a youth centre in the UK, and he's since developed strong communication and interpersonal skills by teaching students of all ages.

Math 

Ms. Claire Lee

Ms. Claire is a dedicated teacher at GIS. Ms. Claire teaches a diverse range of math courses, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and AP Calculus. Her goal is to make math both accessible and enjoyable for all students.

Social Studies

Ms. Jinney Chong

Ms. Jinney Chong has been teaching for six years in the Jeju and Seoul areas. She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Hong Kong and completed her teaching degree with a focus of Secondary Education. Having grown up in the UK, China, and South Korea, Ms.Chong brings a global perspective to their teaching, with a strong emphasis on collaborative learning and student engagement. 

Science

Ms. Esther Snedeker

Ms. Esther is a dedicated secondary science teacher with 7 years of experience in the classroom. Her passion lies in making science accessible and engaging for all her students. Beyond the classroom, Ms. Esther enjoys spending her spare time reading a wide range of books and exploring the local region through travel.

Specialty Team

Our specialty teacher team is a group of skilled professionals dedicated to enriching the educational experience with unique subjects like art, music, physical education, Spanish, and ESL.

Art

Ms. Bea Park

Ms.Bea is an innovative art educator with eight years of teaching experience, a proud graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, who believes in the transformative power of art as a medium for self-expression and dialogue. She is dedicated to creating a supportive classroom environment where students can not only develop their artistic abilities but also learn to communicate their ideas and emotions effectively.

Spanish

Ms. Jeniffer Carrion

Ms. Jeniffer holds a master’s degree and has over six years of teaching experience in both public and private schools. Ms. Jeniffer is very passionate about teaching and love creating fun, active, and engaging classes.

Music

Ms. Sharon Shin

Ms. Sharon graduated from Juilliard School and Columbia University with MA and MMED degrees.
As a flutist, she performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall and was invited to international conducting competitions in the UK, France, Bulgaria, and Romania. Ms. Sharon has taught Orchestra, Choir, Concert Band, AP, IBDP, IGCSE, MYP, and IPC music for over 13 years in international and British schools.

ESL

Mr. Juan Dominguez

Mr. Juan has been teaching in South Korea for 10 years. He is originally from Chicago, Illinois, and has a teaching license from the University of West Florida. He specializes in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading and ESOL. He loves adventures to new places in Korea as well as other countries. He loves interacting with children to make education enjoyable for them.

PE

Ms. Sol Kim

With a degree in Physical Education from Korea University and an international school background, Ms. Sol is all about promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. In her free time, Ms. Sol loves playing volleyball and ice hockey. Her goal as a PE teacher is to inspire students to find their favorite ways to stay active, helping them build healthy habits that can bring positive outcomes physically and mentally for life.
